Article By Pastor Barrett Watson

In John 19:26-27, Jesus offers the disciple a new family with Mary as his mother. Friends are yours to choose but not family; they are God given. God has strategically placed you in the family He chose, that you would share the love of Christ among those who are lost.
It’s obvious, our families are under attack from every direction. People of God while we were “sleeping” our real enemy has sown seeds of discord, bitterness and perversion. The enemy is not our loved ones, even though they may sometimes play that role.
You must be the light in darkness! Christ drew us through love. We should pray “Jesus, help me walk in love as you did”. Our families need to see a Christ centered life up close. I can hear you thinking, “You don’t know my family”. I can say the same. There is no such thing as the perfect family.
Jesus, like many of us, had a blended family. In this environment someone else (God) has decided your loved ones. The charge remains the same. The scriptures asks a question. What have we done if we only do good to those who are good to us?
As Believers, we must pray for wisdom to win our lost family members. Do not be fooled, our God is not mocked. Whatsoever you sow, that you shall also reap.

Remembering who helps you succeed!

I have notice as leaders elevate up the ladder of success they get away from key fundamentals that helped them get there. The higher levels you go the more you must seek and spend time with the Lord. One of the trappings of going up is busyness. Don’t allow what the world calls success to take you away from the one who makes you a success. God makes you successful and attractive because you spend time in his word, worship and waiting for His direction. These fundamentals of leadership must stay intact. Furthermore the vortex of demonic activity is more intense at higher levels of influence. Therefore heighten spiritual discernment is valuably needed to deal with, face, confront principalities with the help of God’s anointing and power that is in Jesus Name.

Purpose of leadership series

October 27th 2017

Myles Monroe once stated "When purpose is not known abuse is inevitable" When leaders do not understand their role they are more apt to be abusive with their influence and power. In my next book titled "Seven Steps To Elevating Effective Leadership" subtitle "What is real Leadership"  I share biblical principles of Leadership and also share transparent stories of the good moments, bad moments, and ugly moments of Leadership. Through it all I am challenging myself to elevate people in their purpose, prayer life, and leadership. Join me in the in with me in our journey to leading God's way.

Suffering is part of the Journey!

Hello Elevate friends, I know it has been awhile since you heard from me, I have been steady for several weeks finishing up my leadership book. We have also launched our weekly Destiny outreach at Queen Palmer Elementary School 1921 East Yampa Street. We are meeting on Thursday nights at 6:00pm. Our theme this year is Elevating Your Leadership!

The recovery efforts from the storage unit fire are progressing forward, we are determined to advance forward in Jesus Name. I want to thank my friends who responded towards us with prayer, love, and financial gifts. Your demonstration of love have supercharged our faith.

Did you know that suffering is part of the faith journey? In the book of I Peter 4:1 says “So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished (ceased) with sin.” None of like suffering I recall the process I went through in recovering from a concussion, boy that was an ordeal but I can appreciate been pain free much more and having a clear mind. Despite the seasons we go through God’s desire for us is that we prosper, and be in health even as our soul prospers. God’s goal is that we become better and not bitter and becoming more like Christ.

God bless each of you and remember “You have a Destiny!”

Who is influencing your leadership decisions?

In Romans 8:14 its says "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."

To lead effectively and rightly we must rely on the inspiration and direction of the Holy Spirit. If we are relying on our own knowledge we can led people in the wrong direction. The word of God is our number compass in knowing what we should do in any given situation.

God bless and keep on elevating leadership!

"A wise men will both listen and learn"

Leaders listen and learn: Proverbs 1:5 "A wise man will hear and increase in learning, and a man o understanding will attain to wise counsels." Christian leaders must be constantly learning to help guide people and help get people free from bondage and captivity. Hosea 4:6 "My people perish because of a lack of knowledge." Did you notice what God said my people and lack of knowledge. This clearly tells us we as believers have much to learn. The word has riches that need to dug up and applied to our daily live so that we can fulfill God's wishes. III John 1:2 "I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers." Elevation Leadership Point: Listen and learn in Jesus Name
